More on USSEC's biofuel claims

We carried an item late last month about a Natchez, Miss. company - U.S. Sustainable Energy Corporation (USSEC) - that claims it can extract up to 5 gallons of bio fuel from a bushel of soybeans.

Today, the Jackson, Miss., Clarion-Ledger carried a statement from the company's CEO that USSEC's manufacturing process is so clean that it will not require air or water emission permits from the Mississippi Department of Enviromental Quality.

John Rivera, USSEC's CEO, said the only permit he foresees the company needing would be a rain discharge permit. Rivera said.
